The LORD will fight for you; you need only to be still.

Exodus 14:14

The book of Exodus serves as a beautiful reminder that God is always fighting our battles. Similar to Israel, there are times when we can see absolutely no way around a problem, yet God makes a way. In such circumstances, God will simply place a protective shield around us so nothing can get through to attack us. Other times, something will start to slip through to come directly against us, and then God will move ahead of you to fight the battle. This is where God shows us how powerful and how awesome He really is when He moves into battle to personally protect us.

When we trust God to fight for our battles, it enables us to circumvent any panic, fear, or feelings of hopelessness. We do not have to be anxious or discouraged when bad things happen in our lives, for God is in control and no problem is beyond the scope of His sovereign care for us. So when the battles of life close in around you and you feel surrounded, here are some scriptures to strengthen and support you. To remind you that God is by your side, fighting for you.

Deuteronomy 3:22 – Do not be afraid of them; the LORD your God himself will fight for you.

Psalm 34:17 – The righteous cry out, and the LORD hears them; he delivers them from all their troubles.

Jeremiah 1:19 – They will fight against you but will not overcome you, for I am with you and will rescue you,” declares the LORD.

Deuteronomy 20:4 – For the LORD your God is the one who goes with you to fight for you against your enemies to give you victory.
